Rear-facing Car Seat in the RV-10 front seat

I should have posted this much earlier.  When our younger son, Nicholas, started flying, we needed to move Cooper to the front seat, since Nicholas needed Kelly to take care of him.

What I ended up doing works really well:

  1. Removed the right stick
  2. Made sure I could see everything in the panel and could see and access the right door handle
  3. Put the airplane seat all the way back
  4. Did a solo test flight with the car seat installed, just to be sure everything works the way I expected it to.
  5. Used this car seat.

If you do this or something similar, remember that your primary job is to fly the airplane. I wouldn’t try this with a kid that needed constant attention.

I posted this earlier on VAF.
