Seat Rails and Test Fitting a Front Seat

I wanted to make sure we had the seat rails installed and seats test fit before we move to the airport.  We ran into a snag last weekend when we tried to do this.  One of the seat rail supports attaches to the gear weldment (the big, steel part that attaches the landing gear leg to the rest of the airplane), but when attached to the weldment, the holes in the seat rail don’t line up (they’re about 1/16″ off).  Here’s a picture.

I called Van’s tech support, and they said it was acceptable to “slot” the holes in the seat rail support, to make everything line up, so that’s what I did.  After installing the rails, we slid in one of the seats to check it out.  Here I am looking like a dork.
